David W. Avery, 49, of Syracuse, IN died at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Warsaw Meadows Care Center. He was born on June 6, 1960 in Goshen, IN to Owen D. & Edith A. (Mast) Avery.
He was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and 1979 graduate of Wawasee High School. He retired in 2006 as an assembler from Silgan Plastics in Ligonier after 26 years of service. He formerly attended the Church of the Brethren in Syracuse.
He is survived by:

3 Brothers – Frederick (wife, Eleanor) Avery of Plymouth; Jimmie (wife, Crystal) Avery of Syracuse; & Allen (wife, Carol) Avery of Syracuse

He was preceded in death by his father, 2 brothers – Ivan & Charles Avery,
nephew - Deric Lemler, niece – Jessica Rodriguez, & Gt. Nephew – Gideon Rodriguez.
Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Rice of New Salem Church of the Brethren officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.
