Biography
David L. Henderson, 77, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 10:15 AM in, Warsaw home.
David was born October 5, 1936 in Warsaw, Indiana to George A. and Ruby M. (Bolt) Henderson.
On September 14, 1958 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Warsaw, he married Maria Aranguren, she passed away August 23, 2013.
He was a 1954 graduate of Warsaw High School and attended Tri State College. He enlisted in the United States Army and served as a cryptographer with The Army Security Agency in the Far East for 2 ½ years during the Korean War Era. He belonged to the Warsaw American Legion Post #49.
He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, a member of the Warsaw Bowling Hall of Fame and past member of the Moose Lodge and Lions Club.
He retired in August of 2000 after twenty-five years as owner and operator of Wolford Dry Cleaners Warsaw, Indiana. In his retirement he and his wife, Maria enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandchildren.
Survivors include; daughter and son-in-law: Rebecca and Scott Struven of Farmington Hills, Michigan; two sons and daughter-in-laws: Vincent and Junko Henderson of Warsaw, Indiana, Dr. Christopher and Patricia Henderson of Jacksonville, Florida; four lovely granddaughters: Genevieve and Ella Henderson of Jacksonville, Florida and Maria and Erika Henderson of Warsaw, Indiana and a sister Linda Secor of Louisville, Kentucky.
David was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruby, his wife, Maria and brother, Robert Henderson.
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing in support of each other Wednesday, July 16th from 11 AM - 1 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A service celebrating the life of David Henderson will follow beginning at 1 PM in the funeral home. Pastor Bob Jarboe of Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice chaplain will officiate.
Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, where military honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.
