David Nieten

David E. Nieten, lifelong resident of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones at his sister's home in Warsaw, Indiana. He was born on July 26, 1960, the youngest son of Gerald D. and Emily A. Nieten (Miles). 

David was a 1978 graduate of Lawrence Central High School, serving as Class President.  He then furthered his education by attending IUPUI-Indianapolis where he obtained his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Management. He started his career in the Food and Beverage industry, then migrated to the banking industry where he worked for many years. His current employment was with CF Bank, Indianapolis, as a Senior Personal Banker. For several years he was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce in Lawrence, Indiana and supported his community.

Known for his contagious smile and an innate ability to make people laugh, David brightened the lives of those around him. With a heart full of joy and an infectious sense of humor, he had a rare talent for lifting spirits even in the most challenging times. His mere presence brought happiness and comfort to others.

Beyond his professional career, David had many hobbies that brought him happiness. He was a proud owner of a Harley Davidson and loved spending time out on his bike. He also had a passion for cooking and food,whether that be in the kitchen at home or enjoying a meal at a restaurant with friends. 

David's passing has left a void in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to call him brother or friend. He is survived by his siblings, Jerry (Sheila) Nieten, Peggy (Tom) Gaunt, and Don (Tammy) Nieten; seven nephews; two nieces; and twenty great nieces and nephews. He is further survived by extended family members and many friends. He is preceded in passing by his parents.
