Biography
David W. Pittman, 76, of Claypool, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 1:41 AM in the Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The son of James and Ruth (Welsh) Pittman, David was born September 3, 1938 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Perry High School, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.
In Elizabeth City, North Carolina on May 28, 1962, he took Twyla White to be his wife. She would precede his death on January 13, 2007.
David entered the US Army in 1965 and serviced for 20 years as a stock control clerk and shipping clerk; retiring in Fort Knox, Kentucky on January 31, 1978.
David is survived by 7 daughters and son-in-laws: Sharon & Mark Vance, Claypool; Katherine Westerman, Sidney; Kay & Johnny White, Newport News, Virginia; Janet & Bennie Williamson, Concord, Virginia; Linda & Ron Ramey, Van Lear, Kentucky; Donna & Mickey Blankenship, Warsaw; Bertha & Leroy Sprouse, Hudson, Florida; son and Daughter-in-law; Harold & Barbara Camden, Fort Pierce, Florida: 15 Grandchildren; 38 Great Grandchildren; and a brother, William & Espa Pittman, Pittsburg. Preceded is wife, parents and 2 sisters: Sharon Pittman and Patricia Pittman; and brother: James Pittman.
There will be a Military graveside service at a later date at the Jonesboro Cemetery in Roseland, Virginia.
