David Jay Housouer

December 4, 1957 — September 18, 2020

David Jay Housouer, 62, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 1:11 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. He was born on December 4, 1957 in Elkhart, IN to Dewey E. & Thelma I. (Foudy) Housouer.

He graduated in 1976 from Wawasee High School in Syracuse and lived most of his life in the Dewart Lake / Warsaw area except for 2 years in Nevada. He retired in June 2020 from RR Donnelley in Warsaw after several years and was the former owner / operator of Eagle Creek Gun Shop in Warsaw.

He formerly attended the Church of God in North Webster and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by:

Sister – Jo Lene (Tom) Holderread of Milford

Brother – Jeff (Brenda) Housouer of Clermont, FL

Niece – Vicki (Brian) Haines

3 Nephews – Jeremy Housouer, Kenny (Ashley) Griswold, and Christopher Housouer

Several Gt. Nieces & Nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents – Lawrence & Gladys Foudy and Clyde & Pearl Housouer, and nephew – Mark Holderread.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. No services will be held. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements.

Preferred memorials may be given to the David Housouer Funeral Fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN 46567.
