David L. Mize, 73, of Syracuse, IN passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013 at his home. He was born on May 4, 1939 in Lake Station, IN to Leland L. & Rose Elizabeth (Bush) Mize.
He graduated in 1958 from East Gary Edison High School in East Gary, IN and formerly worked for United States Steel in Gary, IN for 27 years. He moved to Syracuse in 1991 from Lake County, IN and retired from Wawasee School Corporation as a custodian after 13 years of service.
He was a member of Eagles Aerie 3760 in Syracuse, IN.
He is survived by:
4 Sisters – Mrs. Ed (Dorthea) Vision of Brownsburg, IN; Betty Terry of Lake Station, IN; Elizabeth Mize; & Michelle Mize of Lake Station, IN
1 Brother – Ron (wife, Judy) Mize of Lowell, IN
Several nieces & nephews
He was preceded by his parents, wife – Debbie Mize, sister – Marge Mize, & companion – Patricia Hall.
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Private entombment will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, IN.
