Dayton Kindle

January 14, 2024 — January 14, 2024

Warsaw

Dayton Malachi Kindle passed from this life and into the arms of Jesus before his birth.  He was born January 14, 2024, at 6:29 a.m. in Warsaw, Indiana.  Born at 37 weeks, he was 4 lbs 1 oz, and 18 inches long.

Dayton will be missed on this side of heaven by his parents, Brent and Rebekah (Haun) Kindle, his siblings, Easton, Benton, Greyston and Anniston, his grandparents Ken & Kelly Kindle, Roger & Nancy Haun, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Though we grieve the loss of a lifetime with Dayton, we find joy as we think about the ways this sweet little boy was a part of the Kindle family over the past 37 weeks.  Dayton holds the honor of being the biggest surprise addition to the Kindle siblings.

There is no question that Dayton was a beautiful part of the Kindle family. Dayton could hear his family’s joyful laughter, raucous play, and maybe an occasional squabble between siblings.  He most certainly had no trouble hearing his mama cheer from the sidelines at his brothers’ sports games, as he was present for over sixty baseball games, over thirty basketball games, and numerous other sporting events. Dayton could hear his dad encouraging and coaching, reliving the games with the kids on the car ride home. Even inside his mama, Dayton was a part of the Kindle team. Within these last few weeks, he was able to distinguish the different voices of his family, recognizing each one of them as they read books, whispered sweet words, and told him that they loved him very much.

Author C.S. Lewis wrote of endings and new beginnings like Dayton’s when he wrote, “For us this is the end of all the stories, and we can most truly say that they all lived happily ever after. But for them it was only the beginning of the real story. All their life in this world and all their adventures in Narnia had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.”

While the Kindle family shared many adventures over the past nine months, Dayton’s real adventures are just beginning. They look forward to joining Dayton in Heaven one day, and together, they will live the Great Story, where every chapter is better than the one before.
