Delores "Lori" Wheeler left us unexpectedly from her home in Millersburg on August 16, 2024. She was 74 years old. Lori was born on November 23, 1949, in New Paris to parents, Walter and Hazel (Benner) Graff. Lori spent her formative years in Milford, where she attended Milford Schools and learned the value of hard work at an early age.
Professionally, Lori built a diverse career, beginning in her younger years at Goshen Cushion and a local realtor's office. Later, she devoted several years to Continental Stamping, now known as Lippert Components, from which she eventually retired.
Known for her stubborn yet quick-witted personality, Lori was never one to shy away from expressing herself, often stating things "like it was." Beneath her tough exterior laid a heart of gold, particularly evident in her deep affection for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her good sense of humor further endeared her to family and friends alike.
Lori's community involvement was as vibrant as her personality. She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Millersburg, where she proudly served as past president. Additionally, she was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and actively participated in the VFW Auxiliary. Above all, her greatest joy came from the time spent with family and friends, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Those who survive with memories to cherish include her husband: Carl Wheeler of Millersburg; four sons: Randy (wife, Keydron) Wheeler of Lexington, KY, Blaine Sawyer of Millersburg; Greg (wife, Jackie) Sawyer of Warsaw, Jason (wife,Lori) Sawyer of Millersburg; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a sister, Miriam "Mim" Orten of Syracuse. She was preceded in passing by her parents and 13 siblings.
