Dennis D. "Denny" Woods Sr.

Dennis D. “Denny” Woods, 60, of Syracuse, IN passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at his home.  He was born on February 27, 1952 in Goshen, IN to Glenn L. & Louise E. (Culp) Woods.

He was a lifetime Elkhart County resident except a short time in Idaho and graduated from Northridge high School in Middlebury.  He was married on July 3, 1983 in Syracuse to Beth Anne Savage who survives.  He formerly worked at NIBCO in Goshen for nearly 25 years as a tool room supervisor.

He attended Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse. He was a former short track race car driver at New Paris, Plymouth, & Mottville Speedways.

He is survived by:

Daughter – Mrs. Brandon (Gabrielle) Coward of Warsaw
5 Sons – Caleb (wife, Jayne) Woods of Goshen; Steven (wife, Kara) Woods of Goshen; Jerry (wife, Rebecca) Woods of Goshen; Dennis (wife, Jenifer) Woods Jr. of Baraboo, WI; & Chad Woods of Goshen
6 Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 5:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor David Herr of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Hire Cemetery in Ligonier, IN.

Memorial bequest may be given to Dennis Woods Funeral Fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN 46567. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
