Dennis E. Holder Sr.
February 2, 1948 — December 10, 2017
Dennis Eugene Holder Sr., 69, passed away at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. He was born on February 2, 1948 in Kokomo, IN to Frederick Levi & Barbara Jean (Knight) Holder.
He grew up in Kokomo, graduated in 1966 from Western High School in Kokomo, received his BA & Master’s Degree from Ball State University in Muncie, and served in the United States Air Force. He retired as a Health & Physical Education teacher and coach. He formerly taught at Western High School in Kokomo, Connersville High School, Kokomo High School, South Bend Adams High School, and Polk State College in Winter Haven, FL. He was formerly was the pool director at Warsaw High School for several years. He lived in the Warsaw area from 1988 until 2009 when he moved to Florida and then on to Tennessee.
He is survived by:
Daughter – Sarah (Jeb) Freeman of Milford
2 Sons – Joel (Tanya) Holder of Leesburg & Dennis (Shawnee) Holder Jr. of Lemon Grove, CA
8 Grandchildren
Father – Fred (Bea) Holder of Fort Myers, FL
He was preceded in death by his mother.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN.
Burial will take place in the Marion National Cemetery at a later date.
