Denzie Wright, 78, of North Fort Myers, FL (formerly of Syracuse, IN) passed away on August 24, 2016 in Florida. He was born on January 9, 1938 in Dayton, OH to Denzie & Ada (Thacker) Wright.
He graduated from High School in Ohio, formerly lived in Canada and moved to the Syracuse area 31 years ago from southern Indiana before retiring to Florida. He was married December 5, 1959 to Martha E. Combs who preceded him on May 17, 2004 and on August 23, 2012 to Beverly McNeal who survives. He was formerly employed at Kinro in Syracuse in the sales department for many years, Phillips Industries in Ohio, Oregon, and Georgia, and former owner / operator of Thomden Van Accessories in Canada.
He was a member of the Eagles Aerie 3760 in Syracuse and Maxwelton Golf Club in Syracuse.
He is survived by:
Daughter – Melanie (Blake) Shortill of Syracuse
2 Sons – Denzie (Jackie) Wright Jr. of Port St. Joe, FL & Timothy (Tammy) Wright of Pendleton, OR
7 Grand & 6 Gt. Grandchildren
Sister – Betty Barker of Middletown, OH
Former Wife - Beverly McNeal of North Fort Myers, FL
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, and 4 sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Syracuse Cemetery, Mill St., Syracuse, IN. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of local arrangements.
Preferred memorials may be given to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
