Derk William Kuhn, 59, of Milford, IN died at 3:50 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at his home. He was born on July 4, 1950 in Warsaw, IN to Fredric R. & Mary Maxine (Gillispie) Kuhn
He was a lifetime Kosciusko County area resident. He graduated in 1969 from Warsaw High School and attended Purdue University. On February 10, 1973 in Milford he married Kay Ann Waldbeser who survives. He was formerly employed with The Papers, Inc. in Milford as a machine operator for 25 years.
He was a member of the North Winona Church of the Brethren and Kiwanis Club in Milford. He was a former 4-H Club leader and Warsaw Junior Chamber of Commerce member. He was a civil war buff, was the time keeper for athletics at Wawasee High School for more than 25 years, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed raising and carving pumpkins. He received the 2009 People’s Choice award at the Kosciusko County Fair.

1 Sister – Mrs. Keith (Pam) Harrison of Indianapolis
2 Brothers – Kim (wife, Shirley) Kuhn of Warsaw & Chad (wife, Deb) Kuhn of Grovetown, GA
1 Half Sister – Mrs. Ralph (Deanna) Myers of Warsaw
1 Half Brother – Paul (wife, Chris) Kuhn of Silver Lake
He was preceded by his parents, & half brother – Bruce Kuhn
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 5:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev Gary Lewis of the First United Methodist Church in Crawfordsville, IN & Rev. Mitch Hile of the Goshen Evangelical Church officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Milford.
