Dilon Robert Carpenter

Dilon Robert Carpenter, 12, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 7:44 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on July 7, 2008 in Warsaw, IN to Robert Nickolas “Nick” Carpenter & Shawn Marie Knafel.

He lived in the Columbia City area most of his life, attended Indian Springs Middle School in Columbia City and attended the Church of Christ in Columbia City.

He is survived by:

Mother & Step Father – Shawn & Jason Hierholzer of Columbia City

Father & Stepmother – Nick & Meghan Carpenter of Syracuse

Siblings – Bryant Hierholzer, Eleanor Hierholzer, Joanna Hierholzer, and Griffin Carpenter

Maternal Grandparents – Ashley Knafel of Syracuse, Floyd & Jill Knafel of Syracuse, and Jack & Joyce Hierholzer of Columbia City

Paternal Grandparents – Victoria & Todd Wissinger of Syracuse and Mike & Krista Jones of Wawaka

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother – Cynthia Knafel & paternal grandfather – Gordon Carpenter.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home with Pastor Jack Hierholzer officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN.
