Elaine Vandermark, age 93 and a lifetime resident of Warsaw, passed away peacefully in the company of her loving children on Monday, June 28, 2021. She went to be with her Savior and Lord, passing at Paddock Springs Healthcare in Warsaw.
Born Dolores Elaine Huffman, “Elaine,” as most knew her, was the daughter of Charles Leroy Huffman and Blanche Myrtle (Meck) Huffman. She was born near Oswego in Kosciusko County on August 7, 1927 and was a graduate of nearby Leesburg High School.
Professionally, Elaine was a legal secretary for several years. She went on to work for First National Bank, serving in many positions. Retired, she dedicated more than twenty years to First National. She is remembered as a hard worker and for her strong work ethic
More personally, Elaine was a likeable, social person. She rarely knew a stranger and loved time spent with friends and family. She leaves behind three children of whom she was immensely proud; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive, and she loved them dearly. She was strong in her faith and active in the Leesburg Grace Brethren Church for many years. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and crafting. But nothing meant more to Elaine than life’s little moments like time spent laughing with family.
Those who survive include three children: daughters, Gloria (Michael) Miner of Pierceton and Lisa (Denise Hazaga) Vandermark of Chicago and son, Bruce (Mindy) Vandermark of Syracuse; three grandsons: Chad (Rachel) Miner, Tad Vandermark and Ben (Amanda) Vandermark; four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by two brothers, Wallace and Morris Huffman and their parents.
A Life Celebration® is planned with Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services of 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw where friends may gather on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 1 to 3 p.m. Beginning at 3 o’clock, Pastor John French will officiate Elaine’s funeral service. Private burial will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.
