Donald O. Cretcher, 79, of Pierceton died at 4:23 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at his residence. He was born on September 19, 1928 in Warsaw, IN to Delbert O. & Gertrude M. (Eickmeier) Cretcher.
He was a lifetime North Webster/Pierceton area resident except for 7 years in Fayette, OH. He graduated in 1947 from North Webster High School and was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He retired from Homecrest Cabinetry in Goshen after 14 years, was formerly employed at Beatrice Foods (formerly G&W Pizza in Syracuse) in Archbold, OH for 14 years and David Poor Builders in Warsaw. He was a farmer and co-owner of Cretcher & Son Farms. He was a well known sheep shearer for many years. He was a member and past commander of the North Webster American Legion Post 253, V.F.W. Post 1342 in Syracuse, and the 40 et 8 in North Webster.
He is survived by 1 son - Charles E. (wife, Ronda) Cretcher of Warsaw.
He was preceded by his parents and 1 daughter - Marie Elizabeth Cretcher
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN with Pastor Brad Cox of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to services (11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the North Webster Cemetery (Mock Addition) with full military graveside rites performed by the North Webster American Legion Post 253.
