Donald E. “Don” Swihart, 83, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 7:17 a.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN. He was born on June 11, 1938 in Goshen, In to Earl Charles & Rosamond F. “Rosie” (Kaut) Swihart.
He graduated from Millersburg High School, attended Manchester College in North Manchester, IN and served in the Indiana National Guard. He was married on November 13, 1975 in Syracuse, IN to Nancy J. (Kline) Schmuck who survives. He retired as a maintenance technician after working at several RV factories in Goshen and formerly worked as a driver for United Parcel Service for several years. He grew up in Millersburg and lived in Goshen, Kendallville, and Iowa before moving to Syracuse in 1975.
He was a member of The Sanctuary Church in Syracuse.

2 Daughters – Yvonne (Russell) Bayham of Donaldsonville, LA and Marla (Mark) Erwin of Brusly, LA
Son – Tim (Avery) Swihart of Asheville, NC
13 Grand & 17 Gt. Grandchildren
Step Daughter – Kimberly (Steve) Myers of Akron, OH
Stepson – Robert (Connie) Schmuck of Nappanee
2 Sisters – Alice Swihart Alvarez of Aibonito, Puerto Rico & Lois Chalfant of Lubbock, TX
2 Brothers – Ray (Ellen) Swihart of Goshen & Roy (Carolyn) Swihart of Inverness, FL
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter – Jean Rae Swihart, and sister – Ruth Roig.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at The Sanctuary, 10121 N. St. Rd. 13, Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in The Sanctuary with Pastor Craig Fritchley officiating. Private family burial will be in the Rock Run Cemetery in Goshen.
