Donald Ray "Don" Buhrt

Donald Ray “Don” Buhrt, 64, of Syracuse, IN passed away unexpectedly at 5:55 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Goshen Hospital. He was born on August 30, 1956 in Goshen, IN to Robert G. “Bob” & Lorabell Jane (Newcomer) Buhrt.

He graduated in 1975 from Wawasee High School in Syracuse and was a lifetime Milford / Syracuse area resident. He was married on August 25, 1979 in North Webster, IN to Kimberly A. “Kim” Beezley who survives. He was a lifetime farmer and formerly worked part time at Buhrt Builders in Syracuse.

He was a member of the Church of God in North Webster, formerly served on the Wawasee Ag Advisory Committee, and was a former member of the Lions Club in Milford.

He is survived by:

Wife – Kim Buhrt of Syracuse

2 Daughters – Beth (Matthew) Klaassen of Warsaw & Jodi (Robert Groover) Buhrt of Syracuse

4 Grandchildren

2 Sisters - Lana (Ross) Deatsman of Leesburg & Patty Buhrt of The Villages, FL

Brother - Phil Buhrt of New Castle

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Private funeral services will take place with Pastor Brad Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Milford.
