Dora Burkholder

Dora Ellen Burkholder, 82, of Syracuse, IN (formerly of New Paris, IN) passed away at 1:50 p.m. on January 28, 2012 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on January 15, 1930 in Chicago, IL to Albert & Ellen (Volk) Liebert.
She attended public schools in Chicago and moved to the New Paris / Syracuse area 64 years ago from Chicago. On March 21, 1958 in Brookfield, IL she married Delbert D. “Danny” Burkholder who survives. She retired from Smoker Craft in New Paris after 25 years and formerly worked at Goshen Rubber & Land O Goshen.
She was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Syracuse & attended the First Brethren Church in New Paris.
She is survived by:
Husband – Danny Burkholder of New Paris
2 Daughters – Lorraine Carson of North Webster & Donna Blough of Goshen
Son - Randall “Randy” (wife, Sharida) Burkholder of Middlebury
8 Grand & 13 Gt. Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister – Mildred Scott, & brother – Albert Liebert Jr.
Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Church of the Brethren, 68170 CR 23, New Paris, IN 46553 with Rev. Stan Godfrey of the church officiating.
Memorial bequest may be given to Goshen Care at Home Hospice, 200 High Park Ave., Goshen, IN 46526 or New Hope Pet Refuge, 9326 N. 500E, Syracuse, IN 46567. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
