Doris Jones (Light)

November 11, 1927 — January 30, 2017

Doris Katherine Jones passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11:50 AM in Kosciusko Community Hospital. Known by most simply as “Kate,” she was 89 years old at the time of her death.
Kate was born on November 11, 1927 in Warsaw to FB Light and Gladys (Yenor) Light. She spent most of her lifetime in the Warsaw and Goshen areas before settling near Warsaw’s Center Lake. She worked for Mogul Rubber for 41 years.
Kate enjoyed word search puzzles and reading books. She loved the sunshine and spending time outdoors. She especially loved the ocean, the lakes and spending time around the water. She enjoyed travelling, especially with her sisters and family. She was also a member of Warsaw’s American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post 49.
Those left with memories to cherish include her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Judy Brumbaugh of Milford; granddaughter, Shelley (spouse, David) Kuhn of Syracuse; sister Margaret Helton of Warsaw and several nieces and nephews.
Those who preceded Kate in passing include three sisters: Gerry Foles, Ginny Davis and Mary Leake; and a brother, Don Light.
Kate was a vibrant woman who cherished her family and time spent with them. They will celebrate her life in private services held at Titus Funeral Home later this week. Pastor Terry Bradford of First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to K21-Health Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund, a charity which was close to Kate’s heart. Donations may be mailed to PO Box 1810, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1810.
The staff of Titus Funeral Home considers it a privilege and an honor to care for the friends and family of Doris “Kate” Jones.
