Doris L. Scott, 85, of North Webster, IN passed away at 10:15 p.m. on December 7, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on October 1, 1925 in Wabash, IN to Oren Lee & Hazel Anna (Long) Wilcox.
She graduated in 1943 from Chippewa High School in Wabash. In 1968 she moved to Fort Wayne where she resided for 36 years until moving to North Webster permanently in 2006 after being a summer resident for 30 years. She retired on October 1, 2008 as a trucking broker for Sharkey Transportation, Inc. in Fort Wayne after 25 years. She was the 1 st pharmaceutical representative in Fort Wayne at Pennwalt Corporation and was a dance instructor with Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Richmond & Fort Wayne.
She attended Christ’s Church at Georgetown in Fort Wayne., Christ’s Hope Church in F.W., Milford Christian Church, & Red Zone Christian Church in Syracuse.
She is survived by;
3 Daughters – Mrs. Ray (Sherry Sanders) Davenport of South Whitley, IN, Cathy Anspach of Fort Wayne, IN, & Mrs. Dan (Darcy) Barr of Larwill, IN
1 Son – Craig (wife, Sally) Thompson of Hudson, IN
8 Grand & 4 Gt. Grand
She was preceded in death by her parents, son – Kelly Scott in 1977, & brother – Robert L. Wilcox.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2010 @ Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N in North Webster. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the funeral home with Kevin Rhoads of the Red Zone Christian Church officiating.
Memorial bequest may be given to ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens) 107 N. Pennsylvania St., Suite 800, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
