Dorothy M. Freet, 93, of North Webster, IN (formerly of Elkhart, IN) passed away at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Millers Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on July 28, 1917 in Hannibal, MO to Oral & Anna (Welder) Drummond.
She graduated in 1935 from Elkhart Central High School and was married on July 3, 1948 in Elkhart to Stanley Freet who survives. She retired in 1972 from C.G. Conn in Elkhart as a floor inspector after 28 years of service and moved to the North Webster area in 1988 from Elkhart.
She is survived by:
Husband – Stanley Freet of North Webster
Sister – Virginia Enyeart of Okeechobee, FL
Several nieces, nephews and Gt. nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, & 2 brothers – Delford & Joseph Drummond.
Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Graveside services will follow at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Rice Cemetery, 400 James St., Elkhart, IN with Rev. Mike Beezley of the Clunette United Methodist Church officiating.
