Douglas D. “Doug” Bowser Sr. 80, of North Webster, IN passed away at 7:25 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN. He was born on April 19, 1936 in Pierceton, IN to George Deverl & Evelyn L. (Lewellan) Bowser.
He lived most of his life in the North Webster area and graduated in 1954 from North Webster High School. On September 25, 1954 in Decatur, IN he married Frances A. “Fran” Likens who survives. He retired in 1999 from Metcalf, Payne, & Bell as a plumbing & heating service man after 37 ½ years, was a former real estate broker in Syracuse & North Webster, managed properties in the North Webster area and was the owner / operator of Bowser U-Lock Storage Units.
He was an active member of the North Webster Church of God, where he served on the Board of Trustees, was a Sunday School teacher, and attended Men’s Prayer Breakfast faithfully for many years. He was a member of the Lakeland Kiwanis in North Webster, where he formerly served as president, and S.P.E.C. (Senior Primelife Enrichment Center) Board of Directors. He formerly served on the North Webster Fire Dept., coached little league baseball in North Webster, and was in a bowling league in Syracuse.

12 Grand & 15 Gt. Grandchildren
1 Sister- Margaret Anne (Gerald) Oswalt of Warsaw
2 Brothers- Terry (Patricia) Bowser of Warsaw & Roger (Mary) Bowser of Indianapolis, IN
He was preceded by his parents & 2 grandsons - Andrew James Bowser & Charles Preston Towriss.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Church of God, 301 N. Main St., North Webster, IN with Pastor Jeff Boyer officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. Private family burial will be in Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial bequest may be given to North Webster Church of God, P.O. Box 313, North Webster, IN 46555 or Goshen Home Care & Hospice, P.O. Box 723, Goshen, IN 46527. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
