Edward E. “Ed” Alvey, 70, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 3:34 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on May 6, 1948 in Muncie, IN to Emerson & Alberta L. “Lucille” (Buis) Alvey.
He lived most of his life in the Muncie / North Webster area and graduated in 1966 from North Webster High School. He was married on August 31, 1986 in North Webster, IN to Mary Beth (Roeger) Locke who survives. He retired in 2015 as a machine operator at R.R. Donnelly in Warsaw after 47 years.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge & Order of Eastern Star #88 both in Warsaw and he was affiliated with the North Webster Church of God.
He is survived by:
Wife – Mary Beth Alvey of Leesburg
2 Sons – Darren Alvey of Michigan and Jason (Staci) Locke of Leesburg
Daughter – Sarah (Quinn) Wegener of Syracuse
2 Grandchildren – Cayden and Aundreya Wegener
2 Sisters – Carla Alvey of Fort Wayne & Kinsey (Dan) Vandiver of Syracuse
3 Half Brothers – Orin “Butch” Franklin of Indiana, Keith Alvey of Texas, and Emerson Alvey Jr. of Kentucky
Half Sister – Judy Mahone of Florida
He was preceded in death by his parents, son – Sean Alvey, and granddaughter – Audrey Wegener.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. and an Order of Eastern Star service will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Memorial services will follow at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home with Jason Locke officiating.
