Edwin D. “Ed” Biesemeyer, 93, of Silver Lake, IN passed away at 6:40 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Warsaw Meadows in Warsaw, IN. He was born on December 13, 1924 in Muncie, IN to Henry & Lillian (Shroyer) Biesemeyer.
He grew up in Muncie, IN, graduated from Muncie Central High School, and was a United States Navy veteran. He was married to Elsie (Meadows) Beisemeyer who survives. He retired in 1975 as the owner / operator of Barbee Marina of Barbee Lake and was formerly employed at Weatherhead Corporation in Muncie & Syracuse as well as Da Lite Screen in Warsaw. He moved to the North Webster / Warsaw area in 1957 from Muncie, IN until he retired to the Silver Lake area.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Warsaw where he was a 32nd Degree Mason and very active in the US Submarine Veterans Silverside Base Club.
He is survived by:
Wife – Elsie Biesemeyer of Silver Lake
Daughter – Karen (Brian) Yacovone of Pearland, TX
Son – Dave (Dorothy) Biesemeyer of North Webster
5 Grand & 10 Gt. Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Mock Cemetery Addition of the North Webster Cemetery, CR 850E, North Webster, IN with Pastor Hedgel Perry of the Living Hope Ministry officiating. Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN is in charge of all arrangements.
Preferred memorials may be given to the USS Silversides Submarine Museum at www.silversidesmuseum.org.
