Elizabeth Jane "Ebby" Leach, 92, of North Webster, IN passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN where she has resided since 2008.  She was born on April 6, 1923 in Andrews, IN to Walter Irvin & Lela Mae (Bare) Gradeless.

She graduated in 1942 from Chester High School in North Manchester and received her LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) Degree at Marion College (Indiana Wesleyan University) in Marion, IN. She was married on April 17, 1949 in Pierceton, IN to Harold A. Leach who preceded her in 1995. She grew up in Huntington County and moved to the North Webster area in 1960 from Wabash, IN. She worked as a nurse for the V.A. Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN for many years.

She was a member of the Church of God in North Webster and former member of the Backwater Friends Home Economic Club. Elizabeth enjoyed reading, gardening, and attending church.

She is survived by:

9 nieces & nephews, several Gt. nieces & nephews, and numerous Gt. Gt. Nieces & nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, husband, daughter - Alice Rodgers, son – Walter Leach, 2 sisters- Illa Stentsel & Rebecca Gradeless, 2 brothers- Charles & Harmon Gradeless, step sister – Martha Menzie, and 2 step brothers – Charles & Marion Collier.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon on Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Boyer & Pastor Tim Jones of the church officiating.  Burial will be in Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be given to the Church of God, P.O. Box 313, North Webster, IN 46555. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
