Ellen Bernice Plotner, age 82 and a lifetime resident of Warsaw, passed away on January 8, 2018 in her home at Courts of Colfax.
Ellen was born, the youngest of eight children, to Evert C. Marvel and his wife, Edna (Rosburgh) Marvel. She was born on May 7, 1935 and raised on the family farm.
She was married to the late Earl Plotner and had worked at the laundromat in Warsaw.
A Christian woman, Ellen was formerly a member of Warsaw Wesleyan Church and, for the last several years, has attended The Salvation Army in Warsaw. She enjoyed activities at the church and the Warsaw Senior Center and especially loved BINGO. A social person, she truly enjoyed time spent with her friends, eating out and making trips to the beauty shop.
Ellen is survived by two sisters: Emogene (Vern) Garman of Elkhart and Catherine Stillson of Fort Myers, Florida and was preceded in death by her husband, Earl (2004); three brothers: Eugene Marvel (2015), Joe Marvel (2012) and Dean Marvel (1978); two sisters: Gladys Smith (2017) and Marietta Smith (2004).
The family will receive friends from 11a.m. to Noon on Thursday, January 11th at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home’s chapel, beginning at Noon. Majors Bill and Trish Welch of The Salvation Army will officiate. Burial will be in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery.
