Eloyce N. Van Lue

Eloyce N. Van Lue, 90, of Goshen, IN (formerly of Syracuse, IN) passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Goshen Hospital. She was born on November 5, 1930 in Tipton, IN to Homer Marcus & Helen Lorene (Burkhardt) Brinegar.

She graduated from Tipton High School and received her B.A & Master’s Degree from Ball State in Muncie. She was married on December 3, 1950 to John Richard Van Lue who preceded her on December 17, 1978. She grew up in Tipton and lived in the Rochester / Akron area before moving to Syracuse in 1962. She retired from Wawasee Community School Corporation as an elementary teacher for many years and formerly taught at Bremen, Akron, Florida, and Georgia.

She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Syracuse and a local teacher’s retirement group.

She is survived by:

Daughter – Dianne (Dick) Moake of Fort Wayne, IN

2 Sons –J. David Van Lue of Syracuse & Doug (Marcia) Van Lue of Nicholasville, KY

12 Grand, Several Gt. & Gt. Gt Grandchildren

Daughter in law- Barbara Van Lue of Syracuse

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son – Dan Van Lue, gt. Grandson – Beckett Van Lue, twin sister – Joyce Gindelberger, and daughter in law – Fran Van Lue.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. PRIVATE family services will take place at the funeral home with Pastor David Henry officiating. Burial will be in the Syracuse Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be given to the Syracuse Elementary School, Giving Tree Program, 12799 N. Kern Rd., Syracuse, IN 46567.
