Elwin P. “Al” Bradtmueller, 84, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 5:35 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2012 at DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn, IN. He was born on February 10, 1927 in New Haven, IN to Karl & Anna (Witte) Bradtmueller.
He attended New Haven Public Schools and was a United States Army Veteran. He was married on September 18, 1971 in New Haven to Joan M. (Waterman) Perrine who preceded him in death on March 11, 2011. He retired in 1988 from Phelps Dodge in Fort Wayne after 41 years of service and moved to North Webster / Leesburg area later that year from Fort Wayne / New Haven area.
He was a member of the North Webster American Legion Post 253 and was a former member of the Martini Lutheran Church in New Haven. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed sharing his produce with family and friends, loved fishing and watching Nascar Racing.
He is survived by:
6 Daughters – Mrs. John (Karen) Martin of Angola; Mrs. Steve (Sandi) Marcum of Fort Wayne; Mrs. George (Connie) Csadenyi of Fort Wayne; Mrs. Brig (Linda) Burgess of Atlanta, GA; Mrs. Darv (Tammy) Girardot of New Haven; & Cheri Mills of Fort Wayne
2 Sons – Kevin (wife, Missy) Bradtmueller of Auburn & Kim (wife, Brenda) Bradtmueller of Fort Wayne
29 Grand & 37 Gt. Grand, & 1 Gt. Gt. Grandson
3 Sisters – Arlene Wilkinson of St. Petersburg, FL; Mrs. Herb (Lorna) Marbach of Decatur; & Mrs. Marion (Sally) Driscoll of Fort Wayne.
Sister in law – Ginger Bradtmueller
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, stepson – Tim Perrine, 2 grandchildren, 1 Gt. Grandson, & 3 brothers – Clarence, Norman, & Karl Bradtmueller.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, 1109 Hartzell Rd, New Haven with Rev. Curt Wade officiating. Military rites will be performed by the North Webster American Legion.

Memorial bequest may be given to the American Legion Post 253, P.O. Box 131, North Webster, IN 46555. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
