Biography
Emma Christine Schooley, 91, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 7:35 PM in Grace Village Healthcare, Winona Lake, Indiana.
She was born to Maynard M. and Ruth Violet (Banghart) Denny October 23, 1923 in Warsaw, Indiana. She was a 1941 graduate of Warsaw High School.
Emma and Robert E. Schooley were joined in marriage June 20, 1942 in Warsaw. They would share almost 57 years of marriage until his death May 10, 1999.
A homemaker, Emma attended Cook’s Chapel Church. She was a member of Lamplighter Home Ec Club and a sewing club. She was an avid college basketball fan.
Survivors include 2 daughters and a son-in-law: Connie and Terry Harrell of Plymouth, Indiana and Rebecca Murphy of Warsaw; a son and daughter-in-law: Dennis and Claudia Schooley of Nashville, Tennessee; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren; 1 sister: Patricia Shepherd of North Manchester, Indiana; and a brother and sister-in-law: Jerry and Janice Banghart, Iowa. In addition to her husband, Emma was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Cook, and a brother, Robert Denny.
Friends and family will gather for a time of sharing in support of one another Tuesday, April 14th from 5-8 PM at TITUS FUNERAL HOME, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580. A service celebrating the life of Emma Christine Schooley will take place Wednesday afternoon beginning at 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Pastor Earl Futch and Pastor Hank Lowman of Cook’s Chapel will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
The family has asked that gifts in Emma’s memory be directed to either Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice, PO Box 1196, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1196 or Cook’s Chapel Church, 4567 W. 100S, Warsaw, Indiana 46580.
