Emmagene “Gene” Thorn, 92, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 2:05 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2011 at her home. She was born on April 5, 1919 in Warsaw to Arthur E. & Alge A. (Houston) Thorn.
She graduated in 1937 from North Webster High School. She grew up in North Webster area and lived in Fort Wayne for many years before returning to her original homestead. She retired in 1993 from Magnavox Corporation in Fort Wayne after 30 years as an office administrator. She also worked in various restaurants in Fort Wayne as a waitress.
She formerly attended the Morris Chapel United Methodist Church in Warsaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister – Martha Olive Batten, 2 brothers - Marvin Glen Thorn & Oren Jerome Thorn.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 1:00 on Wednesday with Rev. Holly White of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock Addition to the North Webster Cemetery.
Memorial bequest may be given to the Morris Chapel United Methodist Church, 1483 N. 575E, Warsaw, In 46582. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
