Eraldo “Eddie” DiRico, 72, of Winona Lake, Indiana passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 at 9:20 PM in St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Eddie was born to Pasquale and Maddalena (D’Angelo) DiRico on September 28, 1942 in Orsogna, Italy.
He was a para trooper in the Italian Army. However he lived most of his life in Kosciusko County, Indiana coming from Boston, Massachusetts.
Eddie took Genyce Plummer to be his bride and life partner March 20, 1971 in Atwood, Indiana.
As a master brick layer, he did the stonework for the Biblical Gardens (Warsaw, Indiana), the brickwork for the College Hall of Fame (South Bend, Indiana) and the Honeywell Center in (Wabash, Indiana) as well as the brickwork for Warsaw Community High School’s football stadium.
In addition to being a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eddie was a member of the Knights of Columbus – 4th Degree and a 40 year member of the Bricklayers Union.
Although their hearts are broken, precious memories will be cherished by those who loved him most and include his wife: Genyce; son and daughter-in-law: Pasquale Robert (Patricia) DiRico of Oak Park, Illinois; 4 grandchildren: Alexandria, Andrea, Lucas and Daniela DiRico; as well as a brother: Alfredo “Tony” (Giovanna) DiRico. Another brother, Nicola DiRico preceded Eddie in death.
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing as they support each other Sunday, July 12th from 3-7 PM in Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580. A Rosary service will follow beginning at 7.
Eddie’s life will be celebrated Monday morning the 13th beginning at 11 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, Indiana. Father Phil DeVolder of the church will officiate.
Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana.
The family has asked that gifts in Eddie’s memory be designated to Our Father’s House, 401 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana 46580.
