Erma I. Mast

Erma I. Mast, 79 of Lexington, KY (formerly of Syracuse, IN) passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at her home. She was born on September 6, 1936 in Syracuse, IN to Wilbur Perry & Loah Mabel (Roberts) Walton.

She attended Milford High School and was a lifetime Syracuse area resident until she moved to Kentucky in September 2005. She was married February 11, 1955 in Warsaw, IN to Perry D. Mast who preceded her on August 30, 2000.   She was formerly employed as a waitress at Bates Diner & England’s Family Dining in Syracuse.

She was a member of the New Salem Church of the Brethren in Milford; American Legion Auxiliary Post 223, V.F.W. Auxiliary, & Eagles Lodge all in Syracuse.

She is survived by:

Daughter – Denise (James) Young of Corinth, KY

2 Sons – Daniel (Anna) Mast of Nappanee & Donald (Betty) Mast of Cynthiana, KY

8 Grand & 16 Gt. Grandchildren

2 Brothers – Carroll L. (Thelma) Walton of Pierceton and Clifford C. (Deanna) Walton of Cromwell

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter – Delores Mast, son- Duane Mast, 2 grandsons – Donald & Jason Mast, and 4 sisters - Betty Smith, Joan Hann, Waneta Prescott, & Wilma Everest.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St. Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2016 in the funeral home with Rev. Steve Smith of the Penn Avenue Baptist Church in Georgetown, KY officiating. Burial will follow in the North Webster Cemetery.
