Ernest O. Richardson, 92, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 1:13 p.m. in his home.
Ernest was born on October 16, 1924 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He was born to Grover Cleveland and Mary (Brown) Richardson. He was a 1942 graduate of Silver Lake High School.
On November 15, 1953, Ernest was married to Bonnie J. Overmyer in Warsaw, Indiana. They would share 60 years together until her passing, October 1, 2014.
Ernest honorably served his country, entering the United States Army where he served during World War II with the 361st Infantry in Italy.
Having spent most of his lifetime in Warsaw, Ernest worked for both McKowns and K&B Auto Sales. He went on to work at RR Donnelley as a Cylinder Maker until he retired in August of 1992. He was a faithful member of Life.Church. He loved being outside with nature. He was truly a loving father who loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Lisa (Robert) Wehrly of Warsaw, IN and Cynthia (Robert) Edinger of Hoytville, OH. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; 4 sisters: Earline (Royce) Engle, Geraldine Cox, both of Warsaw, IN, Rosemary Roberts of South Bend, IN, and Elby (Phyllis) Richardson of Evansville, IN.
In addition to his wife, Bonnie J., who preceded Ernest in passing on October 1, 2014, he was preceded by a brother, Bertchel Richardson and his parents, Grover and Mary Richardson.
Burial will take place at a later date.
The family has asked that gifts in memory of Ernest be directed to American Legion Post 49, 301 N. Buffalo Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580.
