Ernest Ross “Pete” Bissell Jr., 68, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 7:49 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at the Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert, OH. He was born on November 14, 1941 in Fort Wayne, IN to Ernest Ross & Virginia Jane (Pete) Bissell.
He grew up in Fort Wayne and graduated in 1959 from Northside High School in Fort Wayne and 1963 from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. He was married on September 15, 1988 in Louisville, KY to Debra L. (Mitchner) Jernigan who survives. He was employed as a floating pharmacist at CVS pharmacies in Northern Indiana and he was the former manager and pharmacist at North Webster CVS for 7 years. He also formerly worked at Hooks, Revco, & Walgreens in Northern Indiana. He lived most of his life in the Northern Indiana area before moving to Warsaw about 10 years ago.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Warsaw and formerly attended the Vineyard Community Church in Syracuse & Logansport. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Marion & the Optimist Club in Warsaw. He enjoyed flying and sailing.
He is survived by:

4 Daughters – Theresa Bissell of Fort Wayne; Mrs. Mike (Tamara) Motycka of Convoy, OH; Mrs. Mark (Tonya) Bowser of North Webster; & Jaime Ervin of North Webster
8 Grandchildren – Kaitlyn Motycka; Ashley Motycka; Dylan Bowser; Ryea Bowser; Bodhi Bowser; Madilynn McDonald; Emily McDonald; & Kacee McDonald
1 Gt. Granddaughter – Aowyn Fuller
Sister – Sally Michaels of Sylvania, OH
Brother – Brent (wife, Libby) Bissell of Minneapolis, MN
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastors Kent Butcher of the Vineyard Community Church in Syracuse & Bruce Vernon of the Vineyard Community Church in Logansport officiating. Burial will follow in the North Webster Cemetery (Mock Addition).

Memorial bequest may be given to the E. Ross Bissell Funeral Fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
