Ervin E. Hughes, 86, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 9:52 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at his home. He was born on September 19, 1930 in Pike County, Ohio to William A. & Martha Hughes.
He attended school in Ohio and was married on September 2, 1967 in Wise, VA to Olive B. (Morse) Herrell who preceded him on February 11, 2005. He moved to Syracuse area in 1968 from Ohio, retired from Fairmont Homes in Nappanee, IN. He formerly worked in the coal mines in Virginia, was a truck driver for many years, and Coachman Trailer Company for several years.
He is survived by:
3 Brothers – Denver Hughes of Jackson, OH, Donald Hughes of Cincinnati, OH, and Ronald Hughes of Ohio
Several Nieces & Nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 6 sisters.
Private family graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017 in the Pattonsville Community Cemetery in Jackson, OH. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements.
