Evalee M. "Eve" Payne

Evalee M. “Eve” Payne, 86, of North Webster, IN passed away at 10:48 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2020 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on October 19, 1933 in Anderson, IN to Addison L. “A.L.” & Eva (Forrer) McKee.

She graduated in 1951 from Anderson High School and attended Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. She was married on March 10, 1957 in Anderson, IN to Philip R. “Phil” Payne who survives and resided in North Webster the rest of her life. She was a former co-owner of Metcalf & Payne Plumbing & Heating in North Webster for 40 years and former Clerk / Treasurer for the Town of North Webster for 13 years.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in North Webster, former member of the Lady Lions Club both in North Webster, and Phi Mu Sorority. She was a past president of the women’s auxiliary of the Indiana Plumbing & Heating Cooling Contractors.

She is survived by:

Husband of 63 years– Phil Payne of North Webster

3 Daughters – Susan L. (Paul) Gilchrist and Sharon L. (Tom) Figura both of Indianapolis; & Sandra L. (Justin) Apotheker of Lone Tree, CO

1 Son – Steven L. (Shelly) Payne of Faribault, MN

12 Grandchildren & 2 Gt. Granddaughters

She was preceded in death by her parents.

**Due to the current, unprecedented guidelines limiting public gatherings because of the COVID-19 virus, there will be a private family visitation at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. A public graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery with Pastor Byron Kaiser officiating. Family requests that everyone follow social distancing guidelines at the cemetery. **
