Biography
Evelyn M. Hyde passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 11:10 PM in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana at the age of 69.
She was born in Warsaw on June 16, 1944 to Ira R. and Annabelle (Tyson) Pratt. Also in Warsaw and on June 17, 1960 Evelyn and Ira L. Hyde were joined in marriage.
A lifetime Warsaw homemaker, Evelyn was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #49 where she loved calling back Bingo cards with her husband as the caller. She equally loved chatting with the Bingo players. Evelyn enjoyed puzzle books. When younger, she loved going out with Ira on a Friday or Saturday night to do something fun. Evelyn was always there for her family - she was their rock and the glue that held them together.
Left with memories to treasure is Ira, her loving husband of 54 years; 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law: Ira Robert and Tammy Hyde; Sammy and Robin Hyde; and Richard Hyde - all of Warsaw; and Harold and Jane Hyde of Logansport, Indiana; 2 daughters and a son-in-law: Sharon and Matt Wagoner and Idris Chestnut - all of Warsaw; 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandson; 2 sisters: Karen Heeter and Mary Louise Baker, both of Pierceton, Indiana; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law: Ira L. and Mary Jo Pratt of Goshen, Indiana; Charles and Lorreta Pratt, Warsaw; and Ronald and Kim Pratt of Pierceton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was predeceased by 3 daughters: Brenda Sheetz (August 11, 2013), Anna May Hyde and Lillian Marie Hyde; a stillborn infant and an unborn infant; grandson, Andrew Wagoner (June 11, 2011); father, Ira R. Pratt (September 6, 1988); mother, Annabelle Pratt (September 29, 2010); brother, Robert Pratt (January 1, 1947) and sister, Carol Ann Ditton (January 1, 2008).
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing in support of each other Saturday, February 22nd from 10-11 AM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A service celebrating Evelyn's life will follow beginning at 11 AM with Bishop Richard Campbell of New Vision Church, Warsaw, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
