Evelyn Marie Bennett, 86, of Pierceton, IN passed away at 4:30 a.m. on Monday,  December 23, 2013 at her home. She was born on May 26, 1927 in Bowling Green, KY
to James H. & Mammie E. (Young) Miller.

She grew up in Indianapolis, IN & graduated from Washington High School. On September 5, 1948 in Indianapolis she married Rev. James V. “Jim” Bennett who preceded her on September 5, 2007. She had previously worked for Eli Lily in the quality department, as a secretary for several United Methodist churches, & was an Avon sales lady. She moved to the Kuhn Lake area in 1986 from Dayton and had previously lived in Acton, Goodland, Gary, Rensselaer, Churubusco, & Winamac where her husband was minister of local churches.

She was a member of the North Webster United Methodist Church and the Women’s Mission Fellowship.

She is survived by:
2 Daughters – Karen (Jay) Harris of Pierceton & Marilyn (Doug) Akers of Lebanon, IN
2 Sons – Mark (Susan) Bennett of Richmond, VA & Tim (Colleen) Bennett of Omaha, NE
9 Grand & 10 Gt. Grandchildren
Sister – Earlene Bonesteel of Indianapolis
Sister in Law – Alice Bennett
Brother in Laws – Michael & Bernard Bennett

She was preceded by her parents, husband, sister – Phyllis Smith, & 3 brothers – Kenneth, J.R., & Carl Miller

Visitation will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 from 5:00 – 8:00 p. m. at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will be Sunday December 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the North Webster United Methodist Church, 7822 E Epworth Forest Rd. with Pastor David Smitley of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.

Memorial bequest may be given to North Webster United Methodist Church, 7822 E. Epworth Forest Rd., North Webster, IN 46555 or Parkview Hospice, 1270 E. St. Rd. 5, Suite, 50, Columbia City, IN 46725. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
