Gene Bair
Gene Bair, age 90, passed away June 26, 2018 in Warsaw’s Kosciusko Community Hospital. He spent much of his lifetime in Kosciusko County and was born on June 1, 1928 in La Porte County to Alvin and Florence (Burns) Bair.
Gene was a Leesburg High School graduate who worked for Zimmer as a Leadman for more than 30 years. He was a helpful and giving person, never knowing a stranger. Gene was a gentle man and a proud father and grandfather. He was sure to always attend his children’s and grandchildren’s events over the years.
Enjoying puzzles as a hobby, Gene liked reading westerns and learning about history. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre, and loved animals.
Recently, Gene and his wife, Laura (Egolf), celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. The pair was wed on June 12, 1948 in the Atwood parsonage. Laura survives in Warsaw. Also surviving are two sons, Bruce Bair of Pierceton and Kent (Teri) Bair of Argos; grandson, Trenton Bair of Plymouth; three granddaughters: Sara Bair of Plymouth, Alissa Bair of Argos, and Keri Bair of Argos; and great-granddaughter, Carsen Perdieu of Argos.
