Frank Knez Sr., 88, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw, IN. He was born on February 12, 1928 in Zeigler, IL to George & Elizabeth (Kalavaric) Knez.
He graduated in 1947 from Zeigler High School and was a United States Army veteran. He was married on January 31, 1953 in Chicago, IL to Denna L. Brewer who survives. He retired in December 1989 from Patten Industries in Hammond, IN after 37+ years of service and moved to the Leesburg area 30 years ago from Sauk Village, IL.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church & American Legion Post 253 both in North Webster.
He is survived by:
Wife – Denna Knez of Leesburg
3 Sons – Frank (Amy) Knez Jr. of Indianapolis, Rob (Kim) Knez of Bremen, and Steve (Melisa) Knez of Glen Ellyn, IL
7 Grandsons & 8 Gt. Grandsons
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter – Denice Knez, and 2 half-brothers – George & Joe Orlovich.
Private family funeral services will be held Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN with Pastor Byron Kaiser of the church officiating. Cremation will then take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. Burial will take place in the Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin, IL at a later date.
