Frank Joseph Winters, 74, of North Webster, IN passed away at 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on January 2, 1939 in Huntington, W. VA to Mike & Sophie (Kurtz) Winters.

He grew up in West Virginia, attended public school there, and in 1979 received his GED from Wawasee High School.  He was United States Army & Marine Veteran and was married on November 1, 1958 in East Lynn, W. VA to Janice Thompson who survives. He moved to the North Webster area 49 years ago from West Virginia and retired in 2005 from CMI in Plymouth after 10 years as a truck driver. He was formerly employed at Monsanto in Ligonier, Syracuse Rubber, JC Pontoon in North Webster, Flex Steel in New Paris, and served as a Deputy for the North Webster Police Dept.

He was a member of the Country Bible Church in North Webster and the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster.

He is survived by:
Wife – Janice Winters of North Webster
2 Sons - Frank (Sonia) Winters of North Webster & James Winters of North Webster
5 Grandchildren - Nicholas Winters, Nichole Helman, Madison Winters, Chase Murphy & Austin Murphy and 6 Gt. Grandchildren
1 Sister – Mary Lee Winters of OH

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters- Sophie Winters, Annie Simmons, and Mary Javis, 4 Brothers – Mike, Johnny, Nick, and Steve Winters.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Myron Drent of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery with military graveside services by the North Webster American Legion Post 253.

Memorial bequest may be given to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 13067, Alexandria, VA 22312 or American Heart Association, 6100 W 96th St., Indianapolis, IN 46278. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
