Fred Lamar Curtis, 90, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 3:48 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at his home. He was born on January 25, 1930 in Nappanee, IN to Aura & Hazel (Stouder) Curtis.
He graduated from Nappanee High School was a United States Army veteran, and was a lifetime Nappanee / Syracuse area resident. He was married on March 26, 1983 in South Bend, IN to Eva E. (Habler) Skelton who survives and was the former owner / operator of Curtis TV & Appliance in Nappanee for over 50 years.
He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse and formerly attended Church of the Brethren in Nappanee.
He is survived by:
Wife – Eva Curtis of Syracuse
Daughter – Kellie (Brian) Curtis - Malone of Granger
2 Sons – Barton (Sara) Curtis of Warsaw & Christopher Curtis of Osceola
13 Grand and several Gt. Grandchildren
Stepdaughter – Michele (Jonathan) Mishler of Syracuse
2 Stepsons – Mark Skelton of Pennsylvania and Robert Skelton of Bristol
He was preceded in death by his parents, son – Darin Curtis, and 2 brothers – Dan & Ken Curtis.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in the funeral home with Pastor David Henry officiating. Cremation will follow at Cremation s Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN.
Preferred memorials may be given to the Calvary United Methodist Church, 801 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN 46567.
