Gary W. Helman

Gary W. Helman, 56, of Cromwell, IN passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014 at his home. He was born on July 3, 1958 in Gary, IN to Virgil Leroy & Attabelle “Atta” (Gipson) Helman.

He graduated in 1976 from Wawasee High School in Syracuse and lived most of his life in the Cromwell area except a short time in California & Columbia City, IN.  He was formerly employed at Shoemaker’s in Columbia City. He was raised in the Pentecostal Church.

He is survived by:
3 Daughters – Emily Helman, Rachel Helman, & Anna Helman all of Columbia City
Grandson – Christopher Logan
Mother – Atta Helman of Cromwell
Twin Brother – Larry (Annette) Helman of Cromwell
Sister – Teresa (Delmas) Davis of Goshen

He was preceded in death by his father & brother – Michael Helman.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Carl Crise of the Whosoever Will Worship Center in Elkhart & brother in law, Delmas Davis officiating. Private family burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery

Memorial bequest may be given to Gary Helman Funeral Fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN 46567. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
