Gene J. Jessie

Gene J. Jessie, 85, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Warsaw Meadows Healthcare. He was born on December 4, 1936 in Coretta, WV to Charles Markus & Virgie Jane (Powers) Jessie.

He grew up in West Virginia, attended high school in War, WV, and was a United States Navy veteran. He was married on February 27, 1958 in Bluefield, VA to Mary Catherine Compton who preceded him on August 30, 2019 and formerly lived in Elkhart before moving to Syracuse. He retired from Fairmont Homes in Nappanee, IN after 30 years and formerly worked at Richardson’s Mobile Home in Elkhart.

He is survived by:

Daughter – Sandi (Jerry) Beery of Syracuse

Son- David (Charlotte) Jessie of Syracuse

5 Grand & 8 Gt. Grandchildren

Brother - Ted Jessie of Holland, MI

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister – Juanita Holley, and 4 brothers – Parkus, Guy, Acie, and Darus Jessie.

Private family graveside services will be held in the Union Center Cemetery in Nappanee, IN with Pastor Frank Ramirez officiating.

Preferred memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.
