George W. Sliger, 80, of North Webster, IN passed away at 6:18 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw, IN. He was born on September 27, 1931 in Wells Co., IN to Frank E. & Lula A. (Cole) Sliger.
He graduated in 1949 from Warren High School in Warren, IN and then from International Barber and Beauty School in Indianapolis, IN. He was a United States Army Veteran that served from 1952- 1954 and was married on September 2, 1952 in Warren to Norma J. Schwob who survives. He moved to North Webster in 1955 from Warren and retired in 2008 as owner / operator of George’s Barber Shop in North Webster since 1957.
He was a member of the North Webster Church of God and American Legion Post 253 in North Webster. He enjoyed fishing, wood working and was an avid Wawasee athletic sports fan.
He is survived by:

2 Daughters – Lori (Randy) Hickman of North Webster & Jill (Rob) Hasker of Platteville, WI
4 Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters - Nina Blair, Ona Johnson, Helen Raver, Ruth Johnson, & Esther Ross, 2 brothers – Dale & Robert Sliger.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, 2012 & 1 hour prior to services on Wednesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N in North Webster. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Private family burial will take place in the North Webster Cemetery – Mock Addition.
