Georgia Helen Prater, 72, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 at 6:50 AM in her Warsaw, Indiana home.
Georgia was born to David K. and Anna Mae (Hackworth) Harris on February 21, 1942 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. On May 2, 1959, she and Ted Prater were married in West Prestonsburg, Kentucky.
She lived most of her life in Kosciusko County and was employed by Penguin Point Catering for 5 years retiring in 2006. She attended God’s Highway to Heaven Church in Warsaw.
Survivors include her husband, Ted Prater; 3 daughters – all of Warsaw: Lana (and Roger) Sloan, Ruth Harris and Misty Gayhart; 3 sons: Ted W. Prater, South Whitley, Indiana; Fred (Sue Heeter) Prater, Warsaw; Eddie Prater, Warsaw; 5 brothers: Kelse (and Maze) Harris, Warsaw; Dean Harris, Warsaw, David Harris, Warsaw; Glen (and Lorrata) Harris, Jackson, Kentucky; and Bruce Harris, Warsaw; sister: Virginia (and Collin) Muldune of Tennessee; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Georgia was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Irven.
A graveside service will be held Monday, June 30th at 11 AM in Sidney Cemetery, Sidney, Indiana. Rev. Bob Brown of God’s Highway to Heaven will officiate.
