Gertrude Mae “Gertie” Kiser, 88, of Pierceton, IN passed away at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Mason Healthcare and Rehab in Warsaw, IN. She was born on January 2, 1928 in Warsaw, IN to Richard & Naomi (Koontz) Snell.

She was a lifetime Warsaw, North Webster, and Pierceton area resident and graduated in 1946 from Warsaw High School. On June 1, 1947 in Warsaw, IN she married S. Howard Kiser who preceded on July 24, 2004. She was a homemaker and a self-employed accomplished artist. She formerly was employed as a telephone operator in Warsaw & North Webster, G & W Pizza in Syracuse, M & M Restaurant / Clarksville Shops in North Webster, and Peddlers Village in Goshen.

She was a member of the Church of the Brethren in North Webster and the Lakeland Art Association.

She is survived by:

Daughter – Mary (Dave) Hartup of Pierceton

3 Sons- Steve (Alesia) Kiser of Ft. Myers, FL; Bill (Angie) Kiser of Mt. Airy, GA; and J. Lloyd (Ruth) Kiser of Churubusco

Son in law – Russell Adams of North Webster

9 Grand & 15 Gt. Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter – Sandra Adams, 2 sisters – Lila Robinson & Mary Mercer, and 2 brothers – Bruce & Earl Snell.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N SR 15, Warsaw, IN. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Memorial services will follow at 1:00 on Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Tim Waits of the Rock Run Church of the Brethren in Goshen officiating. Private family burial will take place in the North Webster Cemetery.

Preferred memorial may be given to the Gertrude Kiser Funeral Fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 72, North Webster, IN 46555. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
