Gilbert E. Cox, age 76 and a resident of Warsaw’s Mason Healthcare, passed away on Sunday, December 31st at 10:25 p.m.
Gilbert was born on December 13, 1941 to Gurvase Cox and Ethel (Norris) Cox. Born in Shelby, Michigan, he made his home in Warsaw after moving here in 1966.
Lucky enough to find love twice, Gilbert was first married to Wanda Harmon and later to Ann Merrick – both of whom preceded him in passing.
Although he worked at Dalton Foundries for more than 35 years, Gilbert enjoyed being outdoors. He found pleasure in simple activities there like cutting wood and caring for the yard. He especially enjoyed time spent hunting with his brother-in-law.
Gilbert is survived by his step-son, Dan Harmon of Warsaw; sister, Lou (husband, Dan) Willard of North Manchester; and brother-in-law, Larry (wife, Deb) Harmon of Silver Lake.
He was preceded in passing by his wife, Wanda Cox who passed in 1996 and his wife, Ann Cox who passed in 2012. He was also preceded by his parents.
Friends are welcome at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw, on Monday, January 8th for visitation from 12:30 to 1 p.m. A funeral service which celebrates Gilbert’s life will take place at 1 p.m. and will be officiated by Pastor Terry Bradford of First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County. Interment will be in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery following the service.
The staff of Titus Funeral Home is honored to be trusted in the care of Gilbert Cox.
