Glenda K. "Kay" Byrd

Glenda K. “Kay” Byrd, 63, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 3:06 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at I.U. Goshen Hospital in Goshen, IN. She was born on April 13, 1950 in Goshen, IN to Glenn & Harriett (Baker) Biller.

She was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and attended Syracuse High School. She was married on September 5, 1970 in Syracuse to Jerry L. Byrd who survives. She was formerly employed at Wawasee Community School Corporation as a cook at Syracuse Elementary for 8 years and many years ago at RR Donnelley in Warsaw.

She was very involved with her grandchildren at the Elkhart County 4H Fair.

She is survived by:
Husband – Jerry Byrd of Syracuse
Daughter – Gina (Kevin) Grindle of Syracuse
Son – Wesley Byrd of Warsaw
4 Grandchildren
Sister – Lynn Thornburg

She was preceded in death by her parents and son – Jerry L. Byrd II

There will be no public visitation or services. Private family burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery.

Memorial bequest may be made to the donor’s choice.
