Harold G. Lowery, 93, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2 AM in his home at Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, Indiana.
Harold was born in Muncie, Indiana on November 20, 1921, to Arthur C. and Devona M. (Sharpe) Lowery.
On December 24, 1942 in Springfield, Missouri, Harold married Gladys Dunnuck.
He served with the United States Army during World War ll.
Living most of his life in Warsaw, Indiana, he was the co-owner along with his wife of Lowery Sewing Center for 20 years retiring in 1974.
Harold was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Oswego. He belonged to and was past president of Independent Sewing Machine Dealers of America. He was a member of Gideon’s International and was a member and past president of Warsaw Chamber of Commerce.
Harold is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Dean Harman of Leesburg and Landra and David Grant of Pensacola, Florida. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and their spouses: Landon and Kim Harman of Sharpsburg, Georgia; Britton and Jodi Harman of Jocotenango, Guatemala; Adam and Mindy Harman of Winona Lake; Amy and Bubba Hogan, Bartlett, Tennessee; and Jessica and Roger Bowman of Deatsville, Alabama; plus 18 great grandchildren.
Preceding Harold in death is his wife, Gladys (April 11, 2014), sister: Carolyn Hertling; brother: Donald Lowery; and an infant brother.
Family and friends will come together for a time of sharing in support of one another Friday, June 5th from 10 AM – 12 Noon at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw. A service celebrating Harold’s life will follow beginning at 12 Noon. Pastor Rick Smith, former pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, where military graveside honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.
